Emily Starbuck Gerson was a writer for TripSavvy covering Austin, Texas for over a year. She wrote about things to do in Austin, ideas for day trips in the surrounding area and delved into the quirkier aspects of the city.
In college, she interned at Texas Monthly and TRIBEZA magazines and was the editor of a weekly newspaper that served five colleges, The Austin Student. After graduating, she worked as a copywriter in the travel industry.
As Marketing Communications Manager of BedandBreakfast.com (acquired by HomeAway) Gersen was in charge of content strategy and wrote all the marketing content, in addition to managing social media and supporting all PR efforts.
Gerson graduated with a communications degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007.
