  • Rachael was previously the Health, Fitness, and Outdoors Editor at Insider Reviews.
  • Rachael tests outdoor gear and adventures from her home base in the Rocky Mountains.

After growing up in the South and living in New York, Rachael wanted out of cities, so she built out her Honda Element and solo van-lifed around the country. Despite having near-no outdoor experience growing up, she decided there was no time like the present to learn. So in 2018, she settled in a small mountain town in Colorado and now spends most of her time trying to keep up with a gang of rad adventure ladies and her dog Crocodile. You can find her skiing and skinning in the winters and in the summers, happily road tripping, rafting, mountain biking, and hiking.

Rachael has been writing about health and fitness since 2013, and the outdoors since 2015. Rachael has written for Men's Journal, Men's Health, Outside, Muscle & Fitness, Gear Patrol, and Insider Reviews.

Rachael earned her B.F.A. in creative nonfiction writing from Savannah College of Art and Design.
