The Puerto Plata region of the Dominican Republic is home to the low-key beach town of Cabarete, famed for its surfing, as well as the beachfront hotels of Cofresi, Playa Dorada, and Maimon. The resort is located in the Puerto Plata region,15 miles from the airport. Amenities include a spa, casino, multiple restaurants, and the nightclub.

As the name suggests, the Sublime Samana resort is located on the quiet Samana peninsula, a hub for eco-tourism on the Dominican Republic's northeast coast. The resort is close to the town of Las Terrenas, but about three hours from the Puerto Plata airport. Guests stay in guest rooms with ocean or garden views have three restaurants to choose from. It offers reduced rates for kids 12 and under sharing a room with two paying adults.

The Viva Wyndham Tangerine, part of the international Wyndham resorts chain, is located near the town of Cabarete. The 221-room resort is set on a private beach and features a trio of restaurants, the Loft bar, and a nightclub.
