Finding Your Perfect Hotel - or Other Place to Stay - in Laguna Beach
Find your Laguna Beach lodging like a pro. Use the same process we use to choose our recommended hotels.
However, you'll need to know a few things about Laguna Beach first:
- Hotels can have the word "beach" or "ocean" or "view" in their name and not be close to the water. And that view? It might be more like a glimpse.
- Almost all the hotels in Laguna Beach are within a few blocks of the coast. Many are on Coast Highway, and it can be hard to tell how close they really are to the water. Use a good online map and look carefully at the satellite views.
- You can also check the hotel photos to get a good idea. If they're not showing you much outside the hotel, you can guess that there isn't much to see.
- In summer, try to get a hotel on the free trolley route. You can use it to get around, and you may not have to move your car until you're ready to go home. Which is a splendid thing in this busy town.

Laguna Beach House is conveniently located, just a few blocks from the central part of town. It's also close to the art museum and Heisler Park. They have spacious off-road parking, too.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, done in a nautical/surfer theme. Price-wise, it's in the middle of Laguna Beach rates, but you get a lot for your money, including a very nice swimming pool, afternoon wine reception, and breakfast.
Laguna Beach House has a sister property, just down the street: the Inn at Laguna Beach. Guests at the Beach House can enjoy their afternoon wine at the Inn, which has a rooftop deck that overlooks Main Beach.

This collection of restored historic cottages right on the beach in Crystal Cove State Park is cuter than cute.
Unfortunately, they're in a state park, which has one of the strangest reservation systems I've ever seen. It takes a lot of planning, a good calendar and alarm clock and trigger-fast reflexes to manage to snag one of them. If it sounds complicated, it is - but I've got you covered.
