Picking Your Own Fruits in and Around Memphis

Picking your own fruit is both a fun activity for the family and a great way to be sure you are getting the freshest produce. The farms and orchards listed below allow you to come in and pick your own fruits and berries. Keep in mind that different items are available at different times of the year so be sure to call first to see what is in season.

    Pick your own strawberries yearly during April and Mary, or choose a pumpkin from the patch every fall. Located at the Agricenter, the berries are grown by the folks from Jones Orchard.

    While they are not for picking, if you're into a family stroll through foliage, check out the Agricenter's Sunflower Fields in August. The two fields are along Germantown Parkway and Walnut Grove.

    Cedar Hill Farm

    Pick your own blackberries at this charming North Mississippi orchard, which also has farm-themed amusements seasonally like train rides, hayrides, playgrounds, and picnic areas.

    They also have pumpkin and gourd patches in the fall and Christmas trees during the holidays.

    Pick your own blueberries on this four-acre farm near Millington. In addition, Harris Farms grows other produce including peas and squash which can be purchased already picked.

    They have a produce stand on location on the 18-acre farm. Many people don't realize the Harris Farms is actually an organic operation.

    Pick your own strawberries, plums, blackberries, blueberries, peaches, nectarines, pears, and apples. They also sell pre-picked produce and jams, jellies, preserves and relishes at their roadside stands and at area farmers markets.

    The peaches are the best-known fruits from Jones Orchard, and they also host fall fun events every October including a Corn Maze, hayrides, pumpkin patch, and haunted attractions. 

    Their two roadside markets are at The Country Kitchen at the Market on Highway 51 and on Singleton Parkway.
