Located at the northwestern tip of the Florida panhandle with miles of stunning beaches, a vibrant and historic downtown, and an LGBT population that continues to grow and thrive despite the region's comparatively conservative prevailing attitudes, Pensacola has also become an increasingly popular gay vacation spot over the years. The city is probably best known to LGBT travelers for the huge Gay Memorial Day Weekend parties that take place here in late May each year, but there's lots to see and do year-round, plus some very fun gay bars.

Sponsored by Gay Grassroots Northwest Florida, the Pensacola Gay Pride Festival is held June 11, 2016, but a number of related events take place during Pride Week, which lasts right through June 18.

The big event of Pride is the Pensacola Pride Festival in the Park, a free gathering held in gorgeous and historic Seville Square Park from 11 am until 6 pm.

Among the many Pride events that take place during the week following the festival, there are some very fun gatherings, including an LGBT Mini Movie Marathon, Chili Dinner & Line Dancing, "Loving Our T&A (Transgender and Ally Brothers and Sisters)" Celebration Ball, and much more.
