At 30,000 square feet, the Paul Bunyan Waterpark is a medium-sized indoor water park. It is one of many indoor water parks in Minnesota. The park is part of Arrowwood Lodge at Brainerd Lakes. Unlike larger parks, it does not boast any headlining attractions such as an uphill water coaster, funnel ride, or a FlowRider wave-making experience.
It does, however, offer a nice complement of slides and other attractions and can be a great way to have water park fun, especially during the colder months when outdoor water parks are not operating. The low-key vibe and relatively low-impact slides make it particularly attractive for families with young children.
Attractions at Paul Bunyan Waterpark and the Arrowwood Lodge
Among the things to do at the water park is a lazy river, a body slide, and a tube slide. An interactive water play structure designed as a treehouse is one of the featured attractions. It includes water cannons and a tipping bucket that unloads torrents of water every few minutes.
There is also a zero-depth entry pool, an activity pool with basketball hoops, and a log walk to challenge visitors’ balance. Guests seeking solace will appreciate the indoor-to-outdoor hot tub and the heated outdoor patio floor (because nobody likes cold feet, especially after exiting a cozy hot tub).
Beyond the water park, the Arrowwood Lodge also offers an arcade with redemption games. A fitness room is available as well. When the weather is accommodating, outdoor activities include horseshoes, bocce ball, volleyball, ladder golf, and a playground with a zipline.
All of the units at the lodge are suites and include a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. They include separate living rooms and sleeping spaces and can sleep up to eight guests. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to the Brainerd Regional Airport. Arrowwod also has business and function rooms available.
