Chic Huts on a Chic Beach
The beach is meditative for many people, and this feeling is especially enhanced by the ambiance at Little Palm Grove.
Statues of Buddha and Ganesh, sticks of incense, bowls of fresh flowers, and the melodic sound of the ocean all come together to create a soothing and sensuous environment. In the evening, the property is illuminated under the warm glow of candles and earthen lamps that are lit by the staff.
Location and Setting
Little Palm Grove undoubtedly has what are among the chicest huts on the chicest beach, Ashwem, in Goa.
The area remains relatively undeveloped as it's a nesting spot for Olive Ridley turtles, and everything about Ashwem beach is boutique -- from the shops to the restaurants. It draws those who want simplicity but don't want to rough it, unlike their less-sophisticated counterparts at Arambol beach a short distance further along.
Ashwem beach is situated between Morjim and Arambol, in far north Goa. It's about an hour and half drive from the airport. If... you're coming by train, Thivim and Pernem are the closest railway stations, around 35 to 40 minutes away.Continue to 2 of 3 below.

One of the best things about Little Palm Grove is the peacefulness and privacy it provides. There are only six huts, just steps away from the ocean. Huts one, two and three directly front the beach and have uninterrupted sea views.
The sturdy huts are made out of concrete, bamboo, and grass on the roof. They're well-ventilated, which means they don't get too hot without air-conditioning. Inside, the huts are equipped with a small desk, as well as hanging space for clothing. Their huge beds on raised platforms are super comfortable, with top quality linen and soft mattress overlays that you'll deliciously sink into.
The attached bathrooms are surprisingly more spacious and attractive than many hotel bathrooms. They're fully-plumbed with western facilities. However, do be prepared for one drawback -- there's no hot water, so you'll have to take cold showers.
There are no TVs either, but who wants to sit indoors anyway? Each hut has a porch with cushions and... seating, well suited to soaking up the views.
The huts are ideal for couples wanting a special getaway. For families, Little Palm Grove also has an attractively furnished, self contained adjoining two bedroom apartment, with splendid sea views and its own private garden.
Rates start from 12,300 rupees per night for a hut and 10,800 rupees per night for the apartment, including breakfast and taxes. It is pricey but what you're paying for is exclusivity and location, location, location. Realistically, there are very few places that are so intimate and quiet, and situated right on the beach.Continue to 3 of 3 below.

Facilities and Things to Do
The beach is the main attraction, and you'll have it almost all to yourself. However, if you'd like a change of atmosphere, Little Palm Grove also has a lovely outdoor lounge area nestled under the palms in a corner at the back of the property. It comes with hammock and well-stocked book shelf, irresistible for relaxing.
Females who fancy shopping can browse the Happy Hippy boutique.
Unfortunately, there isn't a restaurant on the property. Instead, guests eat breakfast at sister property Palm Grove around 100 meters away on the beach. Alternatively, the popular Pagan Cafe shack is located adjacent to Little Palm Grove and serves all the usual fare.
For something more upmarket, walk 10 minutes south along the beach and you'll reach La Plage (Goa's famous fine dining French restaurant) and Sunset Ashram (a hip beach club, with its namesake in Ibiza, that has cool DJs and parties).
Those who feel like doing yoga will find excellent drop in classes at Yab Yum, next door.
