There are a number of working farms on Long Island, NY where a variety of produce is grown. However, some consumers prefer to only buy fruits and vegetables that have been grown without the use of genetically modified organisms, chemical fertilizers, conventional pesticides, and other chemical ingredients.

    Golden Earthworm Organic Farm is a NOFA-NY certified organic CSA farm with 80 acres of active production. Produce grown here includes bok choy, broccoli rabe, brussels sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, fennel, garlic, green b​eans, kale, collards, celery root and much more.

    Jamesport: Biophilia Organic Farm

    This 14-acre farm produces a variety of crops including organic potatoes, tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, beans, peas, onions, garlic, leeks, squash, kale, sweet potatoes, pumpkins and more. Everything grown on the farm is NOFA-NY Certified Organic.

    They have a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) that you can join for an annual fee to receive weekly shares of farm-fresh produce.

    Using certified organic growing practices, the produce on this farm is sustainably raised. They follow the National Organic Production Standards and have received their certification from NOFA-NY.

    Their produce includes Jersey Knight asparagus, two varieties of bok choy, four varieties of eggplant, Music Pink Hardneck garlic, fresh greens like mizuna, arugula and kale, bell and sweet peppers, Yukon Gold, Dark Red Norland, French Fingerling and Russian Banana Fingerling potatoes, and much more. They also feature over a dozen types of tomatoes including Green Zebra and San Marzano.

    This farm features organic fruits, vegetables, and flowers. You can buy their veggies and blooms at their Organic Farm Market and Garden Center, located at 4558 Sound Avenue in Riverhead, New York. Throughout the year, they have a variety of produce including fruits like strawberries and melons, greens like Swiss chard, broccoli rate, spinach, arugula, mesclun lettuce and more, vegetables like baby corn and sweet corn, eggplants, green, purple, yellow and red sweet peppers, yellow summer squash and sweet sunburst squash, zucchini and more. They also grow sugar snap peas, haricots verts (French mini-green beans), cranberry beans and other varieties.
