It's a Little Bit Country at the Orange County Fair!
The Orange County Fair is a traditional county fair that showcases the rural side of Orange County, CA right in the city of Costa Mesa. There are carnival rides, livestock shows and exhibits, pig races, vegetable and garden exhibits, and equestrian events. There are also home arts and crafts, local youth and adults performing, circus acts, carnival rides, motocross, demolition derby and lots of fair food. Technology is well-represented with all kinds of gadgets demonstrated and sold in the exhibit halls.
There are free concerts, magic and acrobats at various stages around the fairgrounds and ticketed sports events and concerts in the OC Arena as well as ticketed concerts at the Hangar and the Pacific Amphitheatre. Concert ticket prices include admission to the Orange County Fair.

When: July 14 - August 13, 2017, Wednesday through Sunday, closed Mondays... and Tuesdays
Hours: Weekdays noon to midnight, Saturday and Sunday 11 am to midnight, closed Mon-Tues.
Where: Orange County Fairgrounds, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, CA.
Cost: General $12 Wed-Fri, $14 Sat-Sun, Seniors (60+) $7, Youth (6-12) $7, Children 5 and under, active military and veterans with ID are Free. Season Passes are available. Pre-sale tickets are available through ticketmaster.com with no service charges for print-at-home. Check Goldstar.com for discount tickets. (see below for more on Ride Tickets)
Parking: $10, $30 Pacific Amphitheatre; Free weekend offsite parking and shuttle service are available on Saturdays and Sundays from the Experian parking structure off the Bristol Street exit of the 405 freeway. The free shuttle operates from 10 am to 1 am.
OC Fair Express: Saturday and Sunday $3 admission and $2 OCTA bus fare each way from 9 Orange County locations.
Opening Day - First 3 hours, noon to 3 pm free parking and free entry.
Active Military & Veterans Get in Free - Free entry for active duty military and veterans with ID every day plus up to 6 half-price general admission tickets for family members.
Wednesdays We Care Wednesdays gives one free ticket and one free ride in exchange for donations of food, books, toys and school supplies. See the website for details. Donations are accepted until 3 pm at Blue, Yellow or Green Gates only.
Thursdays - Kids 12 and under are FREE all day. Also $3 Taste of Fair food noon to 4 pm, $30 unlimited ride wristband.
Fridays - Seniors (60+) $2 off, + free Ferris wheel and merry-go-round rides. $2 Rides and $2 Games for everyone noon to 4 pm.
Sat-Sun - 1/2 price General Admission and 1/2 price carnival rides 11 am to 1 pm, Free off-site parking with shuttle (see Parking above)
Unlimited Ride Wristbands - Wristbands are available for $30 on Wednesdays and Thursdays. They must be purchased before 5 pm and can be used until 8 pm. Includes 2 free games.

Read and Ride - Kids 5-11 can turn in two short book reports to get 3 free ride tickets. Instructions and form here. Completed book report forms can be redeemed for ride tickets at the Centennial Farm Information Booth during Fair hours. Fun Fair from the Air - OC Fair Ride Tickets
The Orange County Fair has 35 rides in the Main Carnival and another 28 rides in the Kiddie Carnival. Full price ride tickets are 2 for $1 available on site in 10, 40, 100, and 200 ticket packages. Ticket value is loaded onto a ride pass. If you buy ride tickets online, you get more tickets for your dollars the further in advance you purchase.
Unlimited ride wristbands are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays only. They must be purchased before 5 pm and can only be used until 8 pm.

Over-the-Top Fair Food
The Krispy Kreme Chicken Ice Cream Sandwich, the S’moreo Texas Donut - topped with chocolate drizzle, Oreo cookie crumble, graham cracker crumbs and marshmallow cream, and the giant Mexican Churro Funnel Cake are just a few of the decadent, artery clogging delights you'll find at the Orange County Fair. Other treats include deep-fried octopus on a stick, grilled pig legs, chicken in a waffle on a stick, French toast bacon bombs, bacon Nutella pickles, pork belly bacon dogs, bacon-wrapped Brussles sprouts or asparagus and the deep fried pizza log, to name just a few.

Aside from the paid concert tickets, there is tons of free entertainment on multiple indoor and outdoor stages at the Orange County Fair.
