In Short:

Taking a water taxi ride on the Bricktown canal has been a popular activity for years. Now, residents and visitors can add another unique scenic experience in another of Oklahoma City's growing attractions by enjoying a public, themed or private Oklahoma River Cruise.

Once a nearly dry eyesore called the North Canadian, the Oklahoma River was renovated as part of the original MAPS initiatives in 1993.

Finally completed in 2004, the area has quickly become a popular destination for fitness and recreation as well as a host of national events such as the Olympic Kayak Trials, drag boat racing and more.

In late April of 2008, the Oklahoma River Cruisers began passenger service. Tour the seven mile stretch of river from Regatta Park to the Meridian Landing on a 65-foot taxi boat largely funded by Devon Energy Corp. and operated by METRO Transit.

Boarding Locations:

There are currently three boarding locations for Oklahoma River Cruises: Regatta Park near the Chesapeake Boathouse, Exchange Landing (1503 Exchange) and Meridian Landing just east of Meridian near SW 15th. Parking is available at both locations.

It is expected that other stops will be added in upcoming phases. Those include Stockyards City, Oklahoma State Fairgrounds, Dell, American Indian Cultural Center, Farmers Public Market, Wheeler Park, Wiley Post Park, Riverfest Place and Walnut Grove.

Public Cruises:

Public cruises lasting approximately 45 minutes per leg run Wednesdays through Sundays from April through December, carrying up to 35 passengers. Cruises can start from any of the three landing areas, and beverages and snacks are available on board. See the full calendar for public cruise schedule, or contact (405) 702-7755 for more information.

Single ticket options include:

  • One Leg - Adults $6, Children (6-12) $3, Seniors (60+) $3
  • Maximum - Adults $15, Children (6-12) $7.50, Seniors (60+) $7.50

* Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult and ride free with a paid adult admission.

Themed Cruises:

Themed cruises are also available and include daytime educational rides as well as premium evening celebrations with entertainment, hors d'oeuvres, cash bar and more. Rates depend on the specific theme and typically range from $20-35.

See the official site for upcoming themes.

Private Cruises:

Oklahoma River Cruises are also a great idea for a special event such as a wedding, reception, birthday, or holiday. Take as many as 35 guests on 2 hour private excursion starting at $650. Catering, entertainment and audio/visual equipment are available at an additional cost.

Private Cruise requests can be made online or by calling (405) 702-7755.

Oklahoma River Cruise Rules:

Cruiser captains are licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard. Cruises do not allow outside food or drink or smoking within 25 feet of the boats. In addition, no weapons are allowed on board, and riders are not permitted to swim or dive.
