Oklahoma City Turkey Trot Classic - Thanksgiving Run

Background:

Now in its 16th year, the Turkey Trot Classic is a running event held annually at Thanksgiving, featuring a USATF-sanctioned 5k race and a one-mile fun run. Sponsored by the Eagle Ridge Institute, the event benefits a number of programs at Eagle Ridge including nonprofit social services for at-risk families, youth and women. Proceeds also benefit Special Olympics of Oklahoma Capitol Area.

2015 Turkey Run Details:

In 2015, the Turkey Trot Classic will be held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26th, at Lake Hefner.

Race day registration and check-in begin at 7 a.m., and the 5k run/walk starts at 8:15.  The Family Fun Run kicks off about 15 minutes earlier, and there will be activities through the morning.

Activities take place at Stars & Stripes Park.

Registration:

All runners must register and can do so online. Early registration is $30 for the 5k race and $15 for the one mile run.  A discount is available for active military. There is no cost for children under 5 to register for the family run. Registrants can also choose to purchase a t-shirt while supplies last.

More Information:

Runners with dogs are allowed at the Turkey Trot Classic. An awards ceremony follows the race.
