Whether you're looking for unlimited data or primarily just want to talk and text, these days there are plenty of choices for cell phone carriers and plans.  You have the big boys that have been around for years as well as alternatives that may offer lower-cost options.  Here is information on Oklahoma City metro area cell phone providers, with company listings, general plan details and links to dealer retail locations.

  • Sprint

Sprint's coverage in the middle of the metro is nearly absolute. Holes in coverage don't appear until you get as far northwest as Kingfisher, several miles northeast of Edmond, east of Norman and Moore, or southwest of El Reno. Check Sprint's coverage map online.

Dealer Locations: Sprint has an online store finder, and there are multiple dealers around the metro including in Penn Square Mall and Quail Springs Mall.

  • AT&T

AT&T's coverage in the metro is excellent as well. You'd have to go west beyond Minco or north past Crescent to be out of range. Check AT&T's coverage map online.

Dealer Locations: AT&T has an online store finder, and there are multiple stores and authorized retailers around the metro.

  • T-Mobile

T-Mobile's coverage in the metro is good, though signal strength varies depending on specific location. Holes in coverage appear east of Moore, northwest of Yukon and northeast of Edmond. Check T-Mobile's coverage map online.

Dealer Locations: T-Mobile has an online store finder, and there are multiple dealers around the metro including in Penn Square Mall and Quail Springs Mall.

  • U.S. Cellular

U.S. Cellular's coverage is very good in some spots and iffy in others.  According to the company's online coverage map, the west side appears to be stronger than east of OKC.

Dealer Locations: U.S. Cellular has an online store finder, and there are multiple dealers around the metro including in Moore and Midwest City.

  • Cricket Wireless

Cricket launched OKC wireless service in 2008. The company specializes in pay-in-advance cell phone service and is now owned by AT&T.  Therefore, coverage is very good in the metro.

Dealer Locations: Cricket has an online store finder, and there are multiple dealers around the metro.  Gamestop is an authorized retailer.

  • MetroPCS

Part of the T-Mobile network, MetroPCS offers thorough coverage in and around the metro.

Dealer Locations: Use the store finder to browse more than 50 retail locations around Oklahoma City.

  • Boost Mobile

Under the Sprint umbrella, Boost has the central metro pretty well covered.  Once you get outside of that, voice coverage gets spottier.

Dealer Locations: There are a couple of Boost store locations in the metro, including one in Midwest City.
