TripSavvy's editorial guidelines Updated on 05/12/22 When you think of water slides and summer fun, Ohio might not immediately come to mind, but the state offers its fair share of pretty amazing water parks. They offer standalone outdoor water parks, such as Coney Island in Cincinnati, as well as outdoor water parks attached to amusement parks, such as Cedar Point Shores at the enormous Cedar Point. For year-round water slide fun, Ohio also boasts plenty of wonderful indoor water park resorts, including the enormous Kalahari in Sandusky. These are some of the best water parks in the state, both indoors and outdoors. 01 of 12 Castaway Bay in Sandusky Cedar Fair Entertainment Company A part of Cedar Point's vast complex, Castaway Bay is open all year long. The park is medium-sized but is packed with a surprising number of attractions, including the "Rendezvous Run" uphill water coaster, the "Castawave Pool," water slides, an interactive water play structure, an activity pool, indoor/outdoor whirlpool spas, and a toddler's play area called the "Tadpole Pool," where children have to be under 52" to play. The park is open to registered hotel guests as well as the general public, and you can book a vacation package with the park that includes complimentary fountain beverages, length-of-stay parking, and access to the Cedar Point Beach along Lake Erie.
