The 2015 New York City Veterans Day Parade:

More than 20,000 will participate in the 2015 Veterans Day parade (officially called "America's Parade") in Manhattan, including veterans of all eras, as well as active duty military. The 2015 edition will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, rain or shine.

The parade kicks off at about 11:25am, following an opening ceremony and wreath laying at at the Eternal Light Monument in Madison Square Park (from 10am to 11am).

The parade route kicks off close to the park at 26th street, proceeding up 5th Avenue, before concluding at 52nd Street at around 3:30pm. Bleacher seating will be available next to the Review Stand on 41st Street and 5th Avenue for veterans and their guests who wish to sit and view the parade; priority will be given to elderly and disabled veterans.

Former Manhattan District Attorney and World War II Navy vet Robert Morgenthau will serve as the 2015 parade's grand marshal.

This year's parade commemorates the 70th Anniversary of the end of World War II and the 25th Anniversary of Desert Shield.

Each year, the New York City Veterans Day Parade is viewed by over half a million spectators. It's presented by the United War Veterans Council as as an opportunity for the city of New York to honor the brave men and women from every generation who have risked their lives to preserve our freedom.
