If you're looking for a way for your kids to have a wholesome experience this New Year's Eve, teenagers in Sixth through 12th grades can attend a special event at Grace Covenant Church in Chantilly, Virginia from 8:30 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018, to 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
Featuring a keynote speaker, New Year's countdown, and a midnight trip to Dave & Buster's, this annual event is sure to keep your school-aged kids entertained all night long.
With your kids at the arcade, you can sneak away to the 19th Annual New Year's Eve Gala at the Clarendon Ballroom in Arlington, Virginia, this year. Starting at 8 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018, the party goes until 2 a.m. on January 1, 2019, and features Fish out of Water, one of the region's top cover bands, performing on the main stage while DJ S-tyles spins in the lounge.

Dobson, and The PHAZE II Band, A Pre New Years Eve Tribute to the Isley Brothers" features a night of music dedicated to this Capital Region staple band. The event starts at 8 p.m. and requires advanced tickets to attend.
On Monday, December 31, 2018, starting at 8 p.m., you can celebrate New Year's Eve at the Birchmere Music Hall in Alexandria, Virginia, with The Seldom Scene, The High & Wides, and Ms. Adventure for their annual New Year's Eve concert. Founded in 1971 in Bethesda, Maryland, The Seldom Scene is an American bluegrass band that's become a staple of the Capital Region; their annual New Year's Eve concert has become quite popular. Advanced tickets are required to attend and typically sell out before the performance.
The Legwarmers New Year's Eve at The State Theatre
You can spend the last night of 2018 dancing the year away at The State Theatre in Falls Church, Virginia, for the annual The Legwarmer's New Year's Eve concert event featuring The Legwarmers, an '80s tribute band. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online in advance; doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 9:30 p.m.
If you're truly looking to escape this year for your New Year's Eve celebration with the family, you can head to the historic Lansdowne Resort and Spa in Leesburg, Virginia, which will be offering special getaway packages for the holidays this year.
