What You Need to Know About the DC Memorial Day Parade
The National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC is a flag-waving event with patriotic marches and floats. The Parade is sponsored by the World War II Veterans Committee and is an annual tradition of remembrance for those who have died serving our country. The National Memorial Day Parade will include musical performers and celebrity veterans and supporters of the military, including Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Jack Black, Toby Keith, Reba McEntire, Conan O’Brien, Kid Rock, Ray Romano, and more. The parade will also be streamed LIVE on YouTube.com and Military.com.
This year’s parade will recognize the 100th anniversary of America’s entry into World War I, the 75th anniversary of World War II, and the continuing 50th anniversary of Vietnam, which coincides with the highly anticipated forthcoming docu-series, “The Vietnam War,” directed by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, who will serve as Honorary Grand Marshals for the parade.
Date and Time: Monday, May 29, 2017, 2 p.m. The... parade will be preceded by musical performances and ceremonies at the reviewing stand at 1 p.m. at the National Archives, at the corner of 7th St. and Constitution Avenue.
Parade Route: The National Memorial Day Parade begins at at the corner of Constitution Avenue and 7th Streets, NW and proceeds along Constitution Avenue, past the White House, ending at 17th Street. See a map of the parade route.
