Mother's Day at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art:
Enjoy a special day of activities that celebrate mom's on Mother's Day at the Nelson. Mother's Day Celebration, 'Meet Me in Kansas City!' Sunday, May 13th from Noon-4 p.m.
Fair fun fills the museum! "Meet" characters from the past world's fairs and hear their real stories as you stroll to the featured exhibition Inventing the Modern World: Decorative Arts at the World's Fairs, 1851-1939.

Mother's Day at Powell Gardens:
After brunching at Cafe Thyme, you can tour the gardens and enjoy an outdoor performance by Brookside Brass from 1-3pm.
Stroll through the Gardens and look for the best of spring blooms. Be sure to visit the Heartland Harvest Garden to sample early spring crops and to check out the view from atop the observation silo at the Missouri Barn. And this is also the final weekend to enjoy the Orchids & Gems of the Woodlands in the Conservatory.
Michael Foust, Executive Chef/Owner of The Farmhouse and Executive Chef for Cafe Thyme will also prepare and amazing brunch. Seatings are available at 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Mother's Day Event at the KC Zoo :
Every mom enjoys the KC Zoo (and children do too), and every mom gets in FREE on Mother's Day. Mom's also get free tram, train and boat rides... and free ice cream on their special day. The Kansas City Zoo's new River Otter exhibit and enterance are also open which is something to see.
Symphony Designers' Showhouse:
If your mom is into decorating, take her for a tour of the Symphony Designers' Showhouse this Mother's Day. Hosted by the Junior Women's Symphony Alliance, the Designers' Showhouse is magically transformed by local designers and may be found at 47 W. 53rd St.
Tickets are $13 in advance, and $15 at the door and is open from 12-5pm on Sunday.
