On the way to Montserrat is Colonia Guell, a 'colony' of modernist housing for the local community that was intended as an experiment in socialism around the turn of the 20th century. Antoni Gaudi designed the crypt.

A visit to Colonia Guell is a must-see stop on the way to Montserrat and is easy to add in to your itinerary.
