••• Above: Kid Koala seen running through the audience while performing during 2014 Celebrate Brooklyn! at the Prospect Park Bandshell on July 19, 2014 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. Al Pereira / WireImage / Getty Images

The thing with Montreal's Kid Koala is he doesn't do your typical live gig. In fact, he can't put on his three-night show at PHI Centre without you.

''In this latest live experience the audience is seated at stations equipped with a turntable, effects box and a small crate of colour coded vinyl records. Through subtle coloured lighting changes in the room, the audience is cued to play along. The audience is an integral part of the show, accompanying Kid Koala to create an “ambient vinyl orchestra”, melding their individual strains into a fluid body of sound. The idea is to have harmonized turntables create a unique, uplifting, dynamic evening of light and music.''

Kid Koala's Satellite Concert series runs February 2 through February 4, 2017 at Old Montreal's PHI Centre. Shows at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Admission $25.19.  Buy tickets.
