Tip for families: arrive before dusk, before the gardens get crowded. Expect Friday and Saturday nights to be especially busy, with possibly a long line-up for entrance-- so arrive early. Also included with price of admission and worth a quick visit is the Insectarium.

October may arguably be the best time to visit the Botanical Gardens: beautiful fall foliage and autumn weather; the Magic of Lantern displays, which include not only the major exhibitions in the Chinese Gardens, but other displays scattered through the grounds, and Halloween activities.
