The convention center can be configured as one large event space or several smaller spaces and is large enough to accommodate multiple events a day.
The center hosts small and large meetings, conventions, and sporting events. Here is a sampling of some major annual events held at the Minneapolis Convention Center:

Sporting events are also held at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The center hosts events such as dance competitions and volleyball tournaments. It's also home to the North Star Rollergirls roller derby team.
Getting to the Convention Center
The Minneapolis Convention Center is at Second Avenue and 12th Street in downtown Minneapolis.
It is connected by skyway (the city's climate-controlled pedestrian system) to several hotels and attractions in downtown Minneapolis. The airport is only a 15-minute taxi ride away. Free buses (marked "Free Ride") provide service to the convention center from Nicollet Mall. Metro Transit buses serve the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Parking at the Convention Center
The Minneapolis Convention Center is convenient to drive to because it is near the intersection of I-35W and I-94. There is an underground parking ramp opposite the convention center that is connected to the center by tunnels.
The Leamington and Marquette ramps are one block further and are connected to the convention center by skyway. There are several other parking ramps within walking distance to the convention center that are connected by skyway.
Hotels Near the Minneapolis Convention Center
Downtown Minneapolis has many hotels connected by skyway to the Minneapolis Convention Center. The Holiday Inn Express, Hilton Minneapolis, and Millennium Hotel are some of the hotels within a block of the convention center.
Things to Do
The convention center is conveniently located in downtown just a block from all the restaurants, shopping and attractions at Nicollet Mall. The center features a beautifully landscaped plaza perfect for taking a break between events or relax in Craft Bar and Lounge, which serves a rotation of Minnesota craft brews such as Surly, Big Wood, and Lift Bridge.
