Few cities in the world play host to bigger and more glamorous gay parties than Miami, specifically South Beach, which has been a favorite destination of GLBT jet-setters and sun-worshipers for years. Prominent celebrations include the beloved White Party held in late November, and increasingly, the city's spirited Miami Beach Gay Pride, which takes place in mid-April, shortly before the MiFo LGBT Film Festival (typically held in late April).
An LGBTQ Festival Twenty Years Strong
And then there's the famed Miami Beach Winter Party Festival, which takes place in late winter and has been a must-attend for revelers since it began two decades ago. Having been going strong for more than two decades, in 2018 the Winter Party Festival takes place from February 28 to March 6. More than 13,000 guests are expected to partake of the festival.
The Winter Party Festival is a fundraising event, produced by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, which receives a chunk of the event's proceeds. Most of the money raised goes to a group of service organizations in South Florida, under the aegis of the Miami Foundation.
The events take place over six days, and including a full slate of parties and gatherings, including some of the best gay pool parties in the country.
