Merriweather Post Pavilion is an outdoor concert venue nestled within the 40 preserved acres known as Symphony Woods, conveniently located in the Baltimore/Washington corridor in Columbia, Maryland. Originally built to be the home of the National Symphony Orchestra, Merriweather was designed by the renowned architect Frank Gehry. The natural outdoor setting, the state-of-the-art sound system and large video screens make this amphitheater a favorite for bands and fans.
Concerts include a wide range of music featuring the best in rock, country, rhythm and blues, pop, jazz, hip hop, alternative, electronica and classical. For more than 40 years, Merriweather has hosted a wide range of artists including superstars such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant, the Who, Led Zeppelin and many more.

During the holiday season a Symphony of Lights, a drive through Christmas light display, is held on the grounds of Merriweather Post Pavilion. All proceeds from the Christmas light display benefit the Campus Development Plan for Howard County General Hospital.
