There are 209 schools in the Memphis City Schools district. In many cases, a child is zoned for the schools closest to him. Sometimes, however, the boundaries of a zone may extend further than what might be expected.
Three categories of students are required to show proof of immunization during registration: students new to Memphis City Schools, students entering kindergarten, and students entering 7th grade. Requirements for each are outlined in our Memphis City Schools registration guide.
Schools in the Memphis City Schools district start as early as 7:15 a.m. or as late as 9:00 a.m. To find out what time your child is supposed to be in school, check out the entire school list on the Memphis City Schools' website.
Depending upon your child's proximity to her school, transportation may or may not be provided by Memphis City Schools. To find out, simply enter your address in the Memphis City Schools' bus stop eligibility form.
