Marvel Day at Sea on the Disney Magic

Disney Cruise Line is introducing Marvel Days at Sea, a special day-long celebration aboard select sailings on the Disney Magic, whose many onboard attractions include the AquaDunk water slide. Families can take part in numerous Marvel-themed activities during this special event, which is included in the Disney Cruise fare.

Occurring one day on select Disney Magic sailings, Marvel Day at Sea is featured on itineraries sailing from New York City to the Bahamas in the fall of 2017. In addition, the event is featured on one sailing from New York City to Canada, also in the fall of 2017.

Marvel Day at Sea is a day-long celebration of the super heroes from the Marvel comic book and movie franchise. The event features all-day entertainment including exclusive character interactions with some of Marvel's mightiest super heroes and most menacing villains, a brand-new deck party, Marvel-themed youth activities, special merchandise and uniquely themed food and beverage offerings.

Also featured are exclusive at-sea screenings of fan-favorite films from the Marvel universe including the newest theatrical releases, as well as viewings of the Disney XD shows: Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Highlights include:

  • Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor and other Marvel super heroes are onboard for scheduled meet-and-greets and photos.
  • A brand-new themed party that culminates in a stunning display of themed fireworks, lighting, sound effects and the largest collection of Marvel super heroes and super villains ever assembled on a cruise ship.
  • Kids and families summon their super knowledge and enjoy friendly competition during Marvel trivia games, covering courageous heroes and fun facts from the Marvel Universe.
  • For young heroes-in-training, Marvel-themed games, activities and arts and crafts will be offered throughout the day in the Marvel’s Avengers Academy in the Oceaneer Club.

More Marvel Fun on the Disney Wonder

Meanwhile, Disney Cruise Line has debuted another huge dose of Marvel fun for families aboard the Disney Wonder. The Oceaneer Club, the onboard kids space, has introduced the Marvel Super Hero Academy, where young guests can train to develop the heroes inside themselves.

Exclusively on the Disney Wonder, Marvel Super Hero Academy will offer the chance for young guests to be mentored by some of Marvel’s greatest heroes as they learn the value of teamwork and problem solving through hands-on play and programs.

In one mission, Spider-Man will help children hone their spider senses, work on their web-slinging, and then get to see themselves in the headlines of the Daily Bugle.

Meanwhile, at the high-tech command post, other Marvel Super Heroes interact with children via a large digital display. In one program, kids can control the movement of a character on screen to practice super skills like repulsor blasting.

Throughout the academy, displays feature some of the most iconic Marvel equipment such as Captain America’s World War II shield, Iron Man’s helmet, Spider-Man’s web shooters and Black Widow’s gauntlets.
