Marla is a journalist with a passion for travel, music, surfing, and culinary adventures—and ideally combining all whenever possible! She was born and raised in Philadelphia and enjoys providing an insider's perspective about the city's history, blended with its vibrant and evolving neighborhoods. An avid globetrotter, beach lover and professional storyteller, she has covered many other travel-focused topics in her career, including Hawaiian culinary trends, Italian wine trails, and adventures in Singapore. Marla is a co-author of the book, "A Century of Hospitality," a historical exploration of U.S. hotels. Her articles have appeared in numerous outlets worldwide.
Marla is an award-winning writer who was born and raised in Philadelphia. She is passionate about the city and loves exploring the fascinating neighborhoods, restaurants, museums, bars, and especially the music scene. She loves discovering great, new places in town and sharing hidden gems with her readers. She's always pleasantly surprised with how the city is changing and becoming more dynamic every day.

Marla holds a B.A. in Communication and English from La Salle University in Philadelphia.
