Retail marijuana stores in Colorado could legally sell pot as of January 1, 2014. The Denver stores listed here sell recreational marijuana as of 2018, and all stores listed are in central or downtown Denver close to tourist attractions. Colfax Avenue and Broadway are two of the main thoroughfares that are zoned for recreational marijuana stores, but stores can also be found in the Capitol Hill neighborhood and on the 16th Street Mall.

Some locations also sell medical marijuana on the premises; to buy it requires a medical marijuana card that is only available to Colorado residents. As with alcohol, sales of recreational marijuana are limited to adults 21 and older. Check out visiting a dispensary for the first time and all you need to know about edibles for more tips on buying legal weed in Denver.
