March marks the beginning of great things in Las Vegas. The weather has warmed up, March Madness draws thousands of visitors and fans and St. Patrick's Day provides a hedonistic holiday in the middle of the month. Use this Las Vegas Calendar to plan your comings and goings for the month of March.

Las Vegas Show Calendar 

When: All Month
Where:: Across Vegas
What: March is the beginning of the busy season in Las Vegas, and while there are plenty of shows to see the more popular tickets like Blue Man Group, Cirque du Soleil and the Best Magic Shows will sell out fast.

Country Fresh Farmer's Market

When: Thursday 1st, 8th, 15th,22nd, 29th, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Friday, 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Where: Henderson Events Plaza and Henderson Pavillion
What: This Henderson farmer's market staple now has two locations.Head down, grab some fresh produce, a home made jam or a spicy hot sauce.

First Fridays

When: Friday March 2nd 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Where: Downtown Las Vegas
What: Part art festival and part street festival, First Fridays, occur, predictably, on the first Friday of every month. A great time and a must see for locals.

Broad Acres Swap Meet

When: Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Where: 2930 North Las Vegas Blvd
What: Much more than a flea market, this North Vegas swap meet has music, food and family entertainment galore.

Bark in the Park

When:March 3rd, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where:Paseo Verde Park
What:Everybody's favorite four-pawed friends descend on the Paseo Verde Park for Henderson's annual Bark in the Park.

Come mingle, buy goods and have a great family day. Best of all its FREE.

Botanical Gardens Tour at Lake Las Vegas 

When: Sunday March 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th at 9 a.m.
Where: Lake Las Vegas
What: If you love plants or tinkering in your garden or maybe you're an herb-o-phile who amazes your family with culinary delights, then the Botanical Gardens Tour at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson is for you.

Fresh52 Farmers and Artisan Market

When:March 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, 8:30 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Where:Sansone Park Place
What:This hip farmers market congregates every Sunday and brings artisans and foodstuff purveyors together. The homemade salsa is a particular fave.

An Evening With Tim Dorsey

When: March 5th, 7 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Where: Clark County Library
What: Hilarious writer Tim Dorsey speaks, reads and shares insight as part of Clark County Library's its Author Visit Series. This guy is hilarious, so go. I guarantee you'll enjoy it.

Gardens Park Farmers' Market 

When:Tuesday 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Where:10401 Gardens Park Drive
What:Fresh fruits, fresh veggies and fresh air abound at this weekly farmer's market.

Mountain West Conference Basketball Tournament
When: March 8th - 10th
Where: Thomas and Mack Center
What: Come cheer on the UNLV Runnin' Rebels as they fight for a NCAA Tournament bid and battle their conference rivals.


When: March 10th and 11th
Where: MGM Grand Garden Arena
What: Alt Rockers 311 return to Las Vegas for two nights at the stellar MGM Grand Garden Arena. 2-Day passes are available.

March Madness - Selection Sunday

When: March 11th, 3 p.m.
Where: CBS.

Watch at one of the Top Ten Las Vegas Sportsbooks
What: March Madness officially begins with this one hour program on CBS where the brackets are revealed and bracketologists across the country begin acting like crazed shut ins.Head to your favorite sportsbook and let the madness begin.

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones 

When: March 12th
Where: All New Smith Center
What: Indescribale and fantastic the alt-bluegrass-rock-blues-folk-etc-etc stylings of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are the perfect band to open the brand new Smith Center for the Performing Arts.

March Madness - First Four

When: March 13th-14th
Where: CBS, TNT, TBS, truTV. Watch at one of the Top Ten Las Vegas Sportsbooks
What: 2012 marks year two of the "First Four" where four teams battle for the final the spots in the tourney.

Jay Leno

When: March 16th
Where: Mirage Theatre
What: Tonight Show Host brings his comedic barbs and observations to Vegas for his only March appearance.

4th Annual Fremont Street Experience St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl

When: March 17th, 5 p.m.- midnight
Where: Fremont Street
What: Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with this downtown pub crawl. Avoid the tourists and celebrate like a local.

March Madness - Second and Third Rounds 

When:March 15th-18th
Where:CBS, TNT, TBS, truTV. Watch at one of the Top Ten Las Vegas Sportsbooks
What:All 64 teams are in action the 15th and 16th and eight winners from each side of the brackets move onto the third round played on the 17th and 18th. This is the thick of March Madness folks.

Rod Stewart 

When: March 24th, 25th, 28th, 31st at 7:30 p.m.​
Where: The Coliseum at Caesar's Palace
What: Legendary rocker Rod Stewart returns for his ongoing residency that alway, always, always ends up being one of the hottest tickets in town. Listen friends, just because it's a residency show doesn't mean these tickets are easy to come by. Don't be one who said I should have, could have, seen Rod Stewart, but didn't.

March Madness - Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight 

When:March 22nd-25th
Where:CBS, TNT, TBS, truTV. Watch at one of the Top Ten Las Vegas Sportsbooks
What:The tourney gets serious as contenders and Cinderella stories emerge. By now many brackets will be busted, but for those still in the hunt these rounds promise sweaty palms and yelps of joy.

March Madness - Final Four

When: March 31st
Where: CBS, TNT, TBS. Watch at one of the Top Ten Las Vegas Sportsbooks
What: The Final Four is here and it is time for the big boys to put up or shut up. Hopes and dreams will live and die this day and the survivors will live to play for the National Championship April 2nd.
