March Break in Toronto won’t have you short on things to see and do. In fact, the school-free week is filled with fun, interesting and entertaining activities and events kids of all ages will love. Here are 10 of the best March Break picks for Toronto.

Bata Shoe Museum

The Bata Shoe Museum is looking ahead to summer over March Break by throwing a beach party. Beach-themed drop-in activities, games, and crafts will be happening daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the week and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Black Creek Pioneer Village

March Break at Black Creek Pioneer Village involves a few fun activities and the best part is, kids 14 and under get in free March 14 to 20 with an adult admission. There will be a mystery to solve as well as detective workshops, a maze, maple syrup-themed fun including discovery activities at the sugar shack, maple syrup samples, wagon rides and more.

Casa Loma

Head to Casa Loma over March Break to experience Imaginary Dream Castle which will feature interactive theatrical shows, characters from Sesame Street, arts and crafts workshops, an indoor bouncy castle, face painting, cookie decorating and s’mores and hot chocolate to enjoy.

Colborne Lodge

Over at Colborne Lodge in High Park, there will be family tours of the historic house during March Break, which will include a special children’s activity. Depending on the weather, following the tour spend some time exploring High Park.


The ROM will be hosting Enchanted March Break for younger museum-goers featuring tons of fun yet educational activities. Kids can learn how to dance at court like a knight or a princess, make paper bag or finger puppets, dress up like Shakespeare and take a selfie in the Edwardian photo booth, act out a scene from Hamlet or Romeo and Julie and much more.


Drop-in programs will be happening at the AGO during March Break included in the price of admission. Family-friendly fun includes artmaking, coloring, family-friendly tours, family yoga and Zany Zircus with Fesso Zesso courtesy of Zero Gravity Circus.

Toronto Public Library

Head to your local branch of the library during March Break to see what’s going on. Choose from over 100 free activities for kids, teens, and families from March 12 to 20. Activities for kids and families include crafts, puppet shows, magic shows, science workshops and Bingo. Some events geared towards teens include jewelry making, 3D printing, movies, DIY print totes and T-shirts, sushi making and handwriting analysis to name a few.

TIFF Bell Lightbox

Throughout March Break TIFF Bell Lightbox will be showcasing Treasures from DreamWorks Animation. Some great DreamWorks movies will be showing, including Shrek and Shrek 2, How to Train Your Dragon, Madagascar, Monsters vs. Aliens, Bee Movie, Over the Hedge, Puss in Boots and more.

Wizard World Fun Park

Billed as Toronto’s “ultimate March Break destination”, Wizard World Fun Park, back for its 12th year, is happening at Better Living Centre, Exhibition Place. The fun involves pony rides, a petting zoo, an area just for kids five and under, arts and crafts, mascots, stage shows and over 25 mechanical and inflatable rides.

Sugar Beach Sugar Shack

For just two days during March Break, March 12 and 13, Sugar Beach at Toronto’s waterfront will be transformed into a traditional sugar shack. The free, maple-filled event features maple taffy on snow, ice sculpting, hot chocolate, live music, skating and cooking demos to keep the whole family entertained.
