Getting Oriented in Anaheim
At just 160 acres, Disneyland Resort is both dwarfed and hemmed in by the enormous sprawl of Greater Los Angeles. It comprises two theme parks (Disneyland and Disney California Adventure), three on-site resorts, and the Downtown Disney entertainment-and-dining district.

Getting Oriented at Disneyland Resort
Once at Disneyland Resort, you can easily walk between the two theme parks, Downtown Disney, and all three on-site hotels. The entrances of the two theme parks face each other, separated by about 75 yards. This map shows the relative proximity of the two theme parks within Disneyland Resort.
This is the original Disneyland. It opened on July 17, 1955 and was the only theme park designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney.
Since its opening, Disneyland has seen a number of expansions and major renovations and upgrades and now occupies about 85 acres. This map shows the layout with the eight themed lands within Disneyland Park: Main Street, U.S.A., Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country, Mickey's Toontown.

Disney California Adventure
Themed after the history and culture of California, the 72-acre park opened in 2001 and underwent a significant renovation in 2012.
