Kuala Lumpur International Airport is the base for Malaysia Airlines and is also a major hub for travel in Southeast Asia. The airline also flies to destinations all over Asia, Australia, and to London. How to Become a Member Enrich is easy to join, free, and can be done online. As a welcome gift, they will start you off with 1,000 Enrich Miles. As a new Enrich member, you will receive the Enrich Blue card, the entry-level of membership. Traveling regularly on Malaysia Airlines and Oneworld airlines enable you to move up the various elite tier levels to Enrich Silver, Enrich Gold, and Enrich Platinum, unlocking even more benefits and privileges. Enrich Partners Even if you don't regularly fly on Malaysia Airlines, the wide network of partner airlines makes it easy to rack up miles no matter where you're flying to. The Oneworld Alliance alone is made up of 13 airlines—including Malaysia Airlines—and flies to over 1,000 destinations around the world. Earning and Spending Miles Of course, the easiest way to earn miles is by purchasing flights on Malaysia Airlines or any of its partners. As you move up from an Enrich Blue member to higher tiers, you can obtain up to a 30% bonus on your base miles earned when you book flights with Malaysia Airlines. But flying isn't the only way to earn miles. Enrich also includes a network of over 4,000 lifestyle brands around the world that also act as partners. So when you rent a car, book a hotel room, or eat out at partner locations, you're also earning miles. Oftentimes they offer special promotions where you earn two, three, or even four times the number of points for your purchase. Once you've accrued enough miles, the fun part is being able to spend them. The most effective way to use your hard-earned miles is to redeem them on more flights, either through Malaysia Airlines or any of the partners. Miles are valid for three years from the time when they're earned, and then they either expire or you can pay a small fee to prolong them. Another option is to use your miles to purchase airport or in-flight benefits, such as lounge access, seat upgrades, or vouchers to make purchases on the plane. While you don't get quite as much bang for your buck, it's a good way to use up miles you're not going to use otherwise. Elite Member Benefits True frequent flyers who amass thousands of miles are able to reap the most benefits from the Enrich program. It takes 25,000 accrued miles in one calendar year to attain Enrich Silver status, 50,000 for Enrich Gold, and a whopping 100,000 for Enrich Platinum. But even travelers who are in the Silver tier can take advantage of popular benefits like priority boarding, priority check-in, and an extra weight allowance for luggage. As you move up to Gold and Platinum, expect to see even more perks such as lounge access, an emergency assistance hotline, and shared benefits with your spouse. Was this page helpful?
