In the fall of 2003, LimoLiner launched luxury bus service between New York City and Boston. The company's custom-built, 28-passenger vehicles, outfitted with a slew of amenities designed to make the trip an enjoyable and productive experience for commuters, make the one-way trip in about four and a half hours. That's roughly comparable to the travel time involved with flying or taking Amtrak's Acela train.
For those who wish to work en route, LimoLiner provides uninterrupted cell phone reception; seaside outlets; unlimited, free, high-speed, wireless Internet access; and a meeting area in the rear cabin.
If you want to put away your laptop and relax, get comfy in one of the bus's large, leather, reclining seats; enjoy the complimentary snacks, beverages, newspapers, and magazines; and watch a DVD movie or satellite TV. Audio channels are available, too. All seats are either aisle or window seats, so there's no risk of being stuck in a dreaded middle seat.
In a press release, LimoLiner founder, and CEO Fergus McCann explained, "LimoLiner was designed to provide a superior alternative for business and upscale leisure travelers seeking a way to avoid mass travel and recapture lost productivity in a comfortable and convenient, wired environment."
