Headliners Music Hall is an independently-owned local bar and music hall off of Lexington Road in the Highlands. The unique thing about Headliners is that they feature bands from nearly every genre, both local and national bands alike. You could go to Headliners one night and listen to a hip hop or rap act, and another night you could go to watch a metal band. Ticket prices vary depending on the act, as well as the age requirement to get into the show. Some shows are all ages, some are 18 and over, and some are 21 and older.

The Highlands Taproom is a small bar on Bardstown Road in the Highlands, just across the street from the Mid-City Mall. There is both a downside and upside to drinking and listening to live music at The Highlands Taproom. The upside is that they showcase live bands that play solely original music every night of the week and never charge a cover. The downside is that the bar is tiny, and it's often extremely difficult to get to the bar to order a drink or to find a place to sit. However, in the summer when the deck is open, The Highlands Taproom is one of the best places to drink and listen to some of the best live music in Louisville.
