The comedy club scene in Oklahoma City has been an uneven one to say the least. Some have come and gone quickly, even in entertainment areas such as Bricktown. But the Loony Bin Comedy Club has been the exception. Part of a company with franchise locations in Tulsa, Wichita and Little Rock, Loony Bin opened in 2002. The club hosts top stand-up comedians from all over the country, many of which you've seen on outlets such as HBO and Comedy Central, as well as local talent looking to get the big break.

The Loony Bin Comedy Club is a 21 and over establishment. It is recommended visitors arrive at least 30 minutes before the show. Here are a couple of other important rules to know:
- Smoking: For many years, the Loony Bin allowed smoking in the show room, but that is no longer the case. Smoking is only allowed in the bar/pool room area outside of the show room.
- Food/Drink: Each person is required to purchase at least one food or drink item. See options below.
Bar and Pool Room:
Before the show, have a seat in the bar area of enjoy a game of billiards.
It is not uncommon to see the comedians hanging out there after the show. Bartenders are knowledgeable, able to make just about any drink you'd like, and the bar menu features frozen drinks, wine, beer and some comedy club specialty concoctions such as the Laughing Gas, a 32-ounce drink served in a goblet that includes vodka, gin, rum, tequila, cranberry, pineapple, orange juice and more.
After you settle in at your table, choose from a menu of the kind of fare you'd expect at a club or bar without a full kitchen. Nachos, cheese sticks, buffalo wings and chips and salsa are among the appetizers, and if you're a bit hungrier, you can get a pizza or burger.
