Runs 365 days/year. The ride is one hour and 15 minutes each way. Passengers, cars, trucks, buses, car/trailers, motorcycles. Bicycles allowed (no extra charge.) Pets allowed leashed or in a pet carrier. Pay your fare onboard at the bursar's booth. Reservations recommended. Discount for seniors (60+), walk-on passengers. Children 12 and under ride free with an accompanying ​adult.

Sayville Ferry

Approximately 20 minutes each way. Note: there are no bathrooms on the ferry, but there is one at the ferry terminal in Sayville. No vehicles on ferries. However, leashed dogs are allowed on the ferry.

The Sayville Ferry sails to many of Fire Island's areas, including Cherry Grove and Fire Island Pines which have long been favorites of the gay community.

Visit this charming island that lies between Long Island's North and South Forks. There are ferries to and from Shelter Island from Greenport (North Fork) and Sag Harbor (South Fork.)
