The London Bridge Experience & Tombs is a popular 'scare attraction'. At the London Bridge Experience you can learn all about the gruesome tales of the area.
You'll experience medieval life as you enter through the Chapel of Thomas Becket and onto the shop-lined streets of London Bridge as the Great Fire of London takes hold and sweeps the city.
After enjoying the experience, you'll move on to the super scary London Tombs where you'll get spooked in the remains of a former plague pit.
The attraction opens at 10 a.m. but the actors are outside London Bridge station encouraging people to visit much earlier than that. After laughing and enjoying fun photo opportunities with them, I walked to the entrance (while the official address is Tooley Street, you need to follow the painted footsteps on the ground to find the way in).
As I was early, I was directed to the souvenir shop, cafe (there's a seating area and vending machines) and restrooms before joining the other early visitors for the first tour of the day.
At 10 a.m. a small group of us entered together and were guided around by actors who told us the scary tales of the local area. The venue is under London Bridge so there are no windows and it's dark and sometimes rather smelly. Each room features an actor who tells you about a gruesome time in history and does their best to unnerve you.
It's spooky and fun and you'll laugh as well as scream.
The venue also includes the London Tombs and this part was incredibly scary and I wouldn't recommend it as an experience for young children. We had to walk in single file with hands on the shoulders of the person in front. Mostly it was pitch black and we could feel actors so close they were breathing on us but we could see nothing.
And when the chainsaw arrived...well, you get the idea. It's proper frightening in there.
