A first date restaurant should be fun and casual. Save the really romantic restaurants for special occasions. On a first date, you want something more laid back and loose. These restaurants are fun, casual and unique places in central Arkansas where you can get to know someone for the first time.
Whole Hog Cafe
Whole Hog has some of the best barbecue in the state. Arkansas barbecue is a wet spice mixture, and whole hog serves a variety of sauces on the side of their pulled pork, chicken and beef sandwiches. They have great barbecue nachos too. There are a few Whole Hog locations, but the best one is in West Little Rock.
If you want something fun and easy to eat, pizza is the thing and Damgoode is some of the best in the city. I love the funky Kavanaugh location for a date, but the newer Cantrell location is bigger and probably more laid back.
Creegen's has a fun Irish Pub atmosphere. The food is also Irish themed, and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. If anything, the Irish know how to have a good time!
Vino's is another one of those "known for their music" restaurants, but Vino's is also known for their beer. If you have a date that appreciates a good beer with a good pizza, Vino's is for you. The fun atmosphere and "beer sampler" platter are sure to inspire some conversation.
Three Fold Noodle and Dumpling Company
This is a great, friendly spot that isn't very fancy, but it's got a cozy atmosphere and great food. The menus is basically noodles, dumplings and buns. Very inexpensive and fun. The simple menu means you can spend more time talking to your date and less time deciding on an entree.
The Pantry is a popular local restaurant. Its casual atmosphere makes it a relaxed place to have a first date. They serve German/Czech comfort foods, but not all the foods are heavy. The food is moderately priced and pretty much all made in-house. Show your date you have good tastes.

West End is a sports bar, but they have some of the best pool tables in town. They also often have live music and the food is pretty good. It's a nice location to have a casual date.
The River Market has no shortage of fun and funky restaurants to bring your date too. There's Gusano's for pizza, Revolution Restaurant and Patio for Mexican food, Flying Fish, Sticky Fingers and even Iriana's isn't that far. You name it. The River Market eateries are, for the most part, made for first dates. They're causal, fun and unique.
If you're adventurous, try something new or different on your first date, Cafe Bossa Nova is a great Brazilian cafe in Little Rock.
