Lisa is a writer and editor based in Portland, Oregon. For her day job, she’s the managing editor of an equestrian sports publication, but in her free time, she can be found trail running, hiking, Nordic skiing, cycling, camping, and backpacking around the Pacific Northwest. She doesn’t mind the rain. Her favorite topics of conversation include: the Portland Timbers, which gear to pack for upcoming trips, the newest running shoes on the market, and how much it might snow next week.

Lisa has been a professional writer since 2007, when she took her first staff position for an alternative weekly magazine in Knoxville, Tennessee, and she’s been on staff at the Chronicle of the Horse since 2010. She started running in 2012 and, despite a notable lack of talent when it comes to doing it quickly, is now devoted to it. She’s completed five road marathons and countless half marathons, but since moving to the Pacific Northwest she’s fallen in love with trails, and she’s training for her first ultra this year.

Lisa earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Virginia Intermont College.
