Legoland Discovery Center In Brief
There are a number of locally focused kids' activities, plus family-friendly restaurants, in Chicago. That's fantastic for those staying at hotels in the city, but for those staying in the suburbs, options are limited. One of the biggest thrills is the Legoland Discovery Center, which allows kids to channel all their creative energy in a positive manner. The centers became a reality all over the globe when someone once suggested that the company "build a park where visitors can build with LEGO bricks.” The Legoland Discovery Center Chicago is actually in Schaumburg, approximately 45 minutes to an hour from downtown. It features 11 different attractions, which are included in the ticket price.
What To See
- A 4D cinema with moves that run approximately 12 minutes
- LEGO Nexo Knights: The Book of Creativity
- LEGO City Builder: Children can build their own LEGO City complete with skyscrapers, police and fire stations, cafes, suburban streets and beaches.
- Miniland Chicago: See Chicago built in miniature with LEGOs, including replicas of Willis Tower, Navy Pier, Buckingham Fountain and the Wrigley Building.
- Jungle Expedition: Kids come face to face with some incredible life-size LEGO jungle animals like tigers, hippos and monkeys.
- Model Builders Workshop: a tutorial on creating LEGO masterpieces
- Hall of Fame: View famous fictional heroes built out of LEGOs
- Pirate Adventure Island: The pirate-themed playland encourages children and adults to participate in free play and hands-on sensory activities.

Legoland also features a cafe that serves sandwiches, salads, desserts and beverages.
