A TripSavvy contributor since 2018, Laura is an Atlanta-based freelance writer and editor who has covered locations ranging from Charleston to Amsterdam for the site. She is the fitness editor of Atlanta magazine and a regular contributor to Atlanta magazine's HOME, The Atlantan, Eater Atlanta, Liquor.com, No Depression, SevenFifty Daily, and VinePair. Her byline has also appeared in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bon Appétit, Fodor's Travel, Good Housekeeping, and WhereTraveler.
A former public relations professional, Laura turned that passion for storytelling and compelling content into a successful freelance writing and editing career when a chance one-off contribution to Eater Atlanta in 2012 turned into an invitation to become a regular contributor and launch the site's ongoing cocktail coverage. The fitness editor for Atlanta magazine, Laura is an avid marathoner and certified classical Pilates instructor whose expertise has made her a regular contributor on wellness issues and trends in the hospitality industry for Bon Appétit, Liquor.com, SevenFifty Daily, Tales of the Cocktail, and VinePair.
Always the person her friends (and friends of friends!) ask for recommendations on where to eat, drink, shop, and play, her coverage of food and beverage, travel, health, beauty, style, interior design, travel, and music has appeared in Atlanta magazine's HOME, The Atlantan, Atlanta Now, Best Self Atlanta, Eater Atlanta, Fodor's Travel, Good Housekeeping, No Depression, Simply Buckhead, Southern Kitchen, Where Atlanta, and WhereTraveler.
When not writing from one her favorite local coffee shops, she can be found hitting up the hottest bars, hiking or running with her dog on local trails. or catching a live show at her favorite music venue.
She has been contributing to TripSavvy since 2018.
Laura graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in political science from Furman University, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, was an award-winner for her senior thesis on the impact of decreased federal arts councils on state and local arts agencies and co-founded an all-female a capella group. She received her M.A. in arts policy and administration from The Ohio State University.
