Seated at the bar it gives you a sense of relaxed elegance. Casual luxury, like JFK on a sailboat, only he's French and has lost the accent.
The restaurant is small and the bar seating allows you to cultivate a quick relationship with your server. If you are on one of the tables you could feel a bit left out. Watching the food preparation is soothing as each and every person behind the counter works to meticulously prepare each masterpiece.

- Halibut seared with curry oil fennel cream - Sauces, the French know sauces and the curry oil, fennel creme will dispel any false ideas you may have about curry.
- Sweetbread Ravioli with thyme, spinach with garlic cream. Yeah, you're thinking you would never order that. Don't be a fool.
Dessert at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon: Le Flan - Caramel Flan - I usually stay away from Flan because the lack of consistency does a number on my need for texture in my food. However, After a few swallows, the consistency is a bit watery but the sugary greatness will make you forget the liquid and the flavors will delight your palate.
Le Crumble - Berry Crumbles - A little light fare right to accent your dinner. The fruit combined with the crumble is very pleasing.
The wine list at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon is impressive so going the way of the bottle is a good choice if not a bit expensive. Wine by the glass, while there is a limited selection, they are very good. Need help selecting; ask the server, he probably has sampled each on more than one occasion.
