Other than a two-year stint out in California as well as some time in Madison, Wis., I've always lived in or near Milwaukee, which is Wisconsin's largest city. I'm an unofficial cheese connoisseur and have an undying devotion to Wisconsin craft beers. And, yes, I've even gotten my hands dirty as a volunteer at two of Wisconsin's organic farms. Home for me is in the Bay View neighborhood: I love how I can walk everywhere and there are coffee shops, bars, parks, restaurants and eclectic shopping all within reach. That said, I do like to hop on my bike and explore other Milwaukee neighborhoods as well as cruise on out to the 'burbs. Have a tip on what I should write about? Contact me at email@example.com. You can also follow along on my adventures through Instagram and Twitter.
As a freelance food, wine and travel writer I get around the globe often in search of culinary trends and hot pockets in urban cities (though I also, as a Midwesterner, love my open space and never turn down a hike!). My stories have appeared in TIME Magazine, inflight magazines for U.S. airlines, and websites for Fodor's, Conde Nast Traveler, Shermans Travel and Travel + Leisure. Closer to home, I write for Milwaukee Magazine, Brava Magazine and Experience Wisconsin. I'm also a coffee geek and co-authored The Complete Idiot's Guide to Coffee & Tea.
I earned a bachelor's in English and Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
