St. Patrick's Day in Phoenix: Where to Celebrate

There are some great Phoenix-area pubs, bars, and restaurants that have more than just green beer on St. Patrick's Day, so dress up in your best Irish attire and head to one of these special celebrations.

St. Patrick's Day is on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, and the days around the holiday are bound to be filled with Irish food and beer, Celtic music, and family-friendly activities. In the Phoenix region, you'll find huge parties in outdoor tents, pub crawls, and small neighborhood places to go for a Guinness and a plate of corned beef and cabbage.

On March 17, 2020, Padre Murphy's in Glendale is the place to be for a famous tent party featuring live music and Irish fare. Doors open and the green drinks and corned beef and cabbage start flowing at 10 a.m.; there will also be leprechauns, clowns, and face painters to entertain the kids. At 11:30 a.m. the music starts with a full lineup of live entertainment including Irish dancers, bagpipers, and DJs.

There is a $10 cover charge starting at 2 p.m. Note that after 5 p.m. the gathering is for those ages 21 and up only.

McFadden's in the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale hosts a few festive St. Patrick's Day events for 2020, starting with a 1-kilometer (.62 mile) kilt run from 6–8 p.m. on March 13.

Then from 9 a.m. on March 17 until 2 a.m. the next day, McFadden's will have a party, including all-you-can-eat fish and chips, plus tacos and deals on green beer and margaritas. The bash includes live entertainment, games, and contests.

If you'd like to have fun sipping on drinks at several venues, join the annual Scottsdale pub crawl starting at 2 p.m. on March 14, 2020, taking place through 2 a.m. the next day. After purchasing tickets online, check in between 2 and 6 p.m. at the Three Wisemen bar on E. Shoeman Lane to enjoy drink specials in Old Town.   • CAZ Sports Bar will serve a holiday meal from 4 to 10 p.m. for $13.50. Guests of the bar can also enjoy playing trivia games for $1,000 and other prizes at 7 p.m. on the 2020 holiday.
  • Cholla Prime Steakhouse & Lounge offers a special $36 prix fixe menu from 5 to 10 p.m.
  • Eagles Buffet will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., costing $12.95 for adults and $7.00 for children ages 5–12. From 4:30 to 10 p.m., dinner will be served at $18.95 for adults and $8.95 for children ages 5–12.
  • Willows Restaurant will have a breakfast special served from 6–11 a.m. for $7.95, followed by a dinner from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for $13.95.
  • Salt River Café is offering a holiday meal for $8.95 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
