Interjet is is a low-cost Mexican airline with headquarters located in Lomas de Chapultepec, Miguel Hidalgo, in Mexico City. It operates out of the Mexico City Airport as well as the airport in Toluca (airport code TLC). The airline began operations on December 1, 2005. Some of Interjet's special offerings include designated restrooms for women only on their planes, and live presentation of take-off and landing on-screen in the cabin for passengers. They also offer a generous baggage allowance in comparison with many other airlines.

Purchase tickets:

To buy tickets for Interjet flights, visit the airline's website, or make a call to the airline call center at 1-866-285-9525 (U.S.) or 01-800-011-2345 (Mexico). Prices listed include taxes and fees. American Express, Visa and Master Card credit cards are accepted for payments. Payments may also be made with PayPal. Keep in mind that debit cards are not accepted, however. Interjet's fares are based on one-way travel, so there is no price advantage to purchasing a round trip ticket.

Baggage Allowance:

In checked luggage, Interjet allows one checked bag per passenger on domestic flights and two checked bags for international flights. Bags may weigh up to 25 kg (55 pounds) each. There is a $5 USD fee per kilogram for excess weight, but Interjet may refuse to carry any bag that weighs in excess of 30 kg (60 pounds).

For carry-on luggage, Interjet allows two bags per passenger which may not exceed 10 kg (22 lbs) combined. Carry-on bags must fit under the seat in front of the passenger or in an available overhead compartment.

Interjet's Fleet:

Interjet's fleet is comprised of 42 Airbus A320s and 21 Superjet 100s, making it one of the youngest and most modern fleets among all Mexican carriers. Both models have been adapted for added comfort and space. The Airbus A320s passenger cabins contain 150 seats, with a generous 34 inch pitch between seats, which is similar to what some other airlines offer in their first-class or business class cabins. The Superjet 100s, which normally accommodate 103 passengers, are adapted with seating for 93 passengers, also allowing for a bit of extra legroom.

Frequent Flyers:

Interjet has a frequent flyer program called Club Interjet in which it rewards its members with cash instead of miles or kilometers. Members earn a 10% credit of the airfare cost in an electronic wallet which can be used to purchase more tickets or pay for services.
