Inside Atlanta: Integrative Health Expert Dr. Taz Bhatia

We're back with our series Inside Atlanta—each week, we sit down with influential locals to talk about what Atlanta means to them. Today we’re chatting with Dr. Taz Bhatia, Integrative Health Expert and Founder of CentreSpring MD. Although her practice is based in Atlanta’s own Brookhaven, Bhatia is known nationwide thanks to her holistic approach to women’s and children’s bodies. You may have seen her on CNN, The Dr. Oz Show or perhaps you know her from her books, The 21 Day Belly Fix and What Doctors Eat.

When she’s not helping patients achieve optimal health through more natural means, she sheds the white coat and explores Atlanta with her family. Today we get a tour of The Big Peach led by Bhatia herself.

I live in… “Buckhead. I love how central it is to my children's school and shops. I especially love all the healthy dining options the neighborhood offers.”

I Wish People Knew… “How many outdoor activities Atlanta offers, including biking, hiking, rafting and more! From parks to nature preserves, there are plenty of places to go to enjoy the outdoors.”

You Can Find Me… “On the Silver Comet Trail, a hidden gem, as it is a quiet, paved trail with no cars that extends over 60 miles. I love to spend weekends there with my family.”

It’s Dinner Time, I’m Headed to… “True Food Kitchen, my go-to, as it offers a wide, healthy selection of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. It’s healthy food that truly tastes great. Thai is one of my favorite cuisines, and Tamarind Seed and L’Thai are two of my favorites in Atlanta. L’Thai is actually the first true organic Thai restaurant in the world.”

Clock Strikes 5’oclock, I’m Drinking… “Love the new Corso Coffee. It is an Italian-style coffee bar with a New York feel. It’s my local escape from the daily grind (no pun intended!).”

If I had to Stay in a Hotel, I’d Check Into… St. Regis. Everything about it is luxurious and beautiful – the perfect place for a staycation!”

Atlanta’s Best Kept Secret is… “the many fun walkable neighborhoods that have developed! My favorite neighborhoods are Chastain Park and Virginia-Highland. The winding, hilly streets of Virginia-Highland make for a good workout, and Chastain has great outdoor parks to enjoy with the whole family.”

When I’m Playing Tourist I go to… “Serenbe. Quaint, adorable and a breath of fresh air. I love to go with my family to horseback ride, hike or visit the farmer's market.”

I Get My Sweat On… “at my home gym, and CorePower Yoga is my favorite!”

I Love Spending My Money at… “Phipps Plaza or Lenox Square, so many great shops! There are a lot of great boutiques, but I enjoy Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus the most - you can find everything in one spot!”
