Just as indoor water parks have opened throughout the Midwest and around the nation, quite a few of them have come to Ohio. In fact, some of the world's biggest and best places to get wet can be found in the state, especially in the Sandusky area.
The Lake Erie vacation spot is, of course, home to the world-famous amusement park, Cedar Point. With the growing number of water parks in Sandusky (one of which is operated by Cedar Point itself), there is more fun to be had than the lakeside park's renowned collection of roller coasters and thrill rides. And since the indoor parks are weatherproof, the fun now continues year-round.

Castaway Bay is a medium-sized park operated by Cedar Point. Although it is not huge, it packs a lot of attractions into its footprint, including the Rendezvous Run water roller coaster, a wave pool, water slides, an interactive water play structure, an activity pool, indoor/outdoor whirlpool spas, and a toddler's play area. Day passes are available.
The unnamed water park at the Comfort Inn & Suites is quite small and is only available for registered guests. It includes a small slide, a small lazy river, a wading pool, and a few spraying elements. The hotel also includes a putting green and a game room.
Part of the Great Wolf Lodge chain, the resort located at Kings Island amusement park includes a large indoor water park. Admission used to be available only to registered hotel guests, but day passes can now be purchased. Attractions include 11 water slides, an uphill water coaster, a bowl ride, a family raft ride, a wave pool, a lazy river, an interactive water play center with a tipping bucket, two whirlpool spas, mini-golf, bowling, and the MagiQuest interactive adventure.
One of the smaller parks in the Great Wolf Lodge chain, the Sandusky location offers tube slides, body slides, activity pools, two whirlpool spas, a lazy river, kids' play areas, an interactive play structure with a tipping bucket, an aqua rock-climbing wall, the MagiQuest interactive adventure, and an arcade. Day passes are available.
The massive park is part of the Kalahari chain and is one of the world's largest indoor water parks. Day passes are available. Attractions include two surfing simulator rides, a unique water coaster, a lazy river, a bowl ride, a wave pool, body slides, tube slides, raft rides, a mat-racing slide, an interactive water play structure, activity pools, and an indoor/outdoor whirlpool saunas. An outdoor adventure park offers a ropes course, zip line, climbing walls, and an animal park.
