The capital city of Arkansas in Little Rock is home to three unique school districts that govern the dozens of elementary, middle, and high schools in the area, and each year, each school district releases its own academic calendar to govern the schedule for each of its schools.

The school district a Little Rock student attends depends on which part of the city he or she lives in, so if you're moving to the city be sure to check the school district the corresponds to your new address. The three districts of Little Rock are the Little Rock School District (LRSD), the North Little Rock School District (NLRSD), and the Pulaski County Special School District (PCSSD).

The most important dates of the academic school year include the first and last days for students and teachers, the beginnings and endings of academic quarters, and the annual holiday closings and special teacher in-services that let kids out of class for the day.
