Ice skating is a Maine tradition. What Mainer didn't throw on a pair of skates as a kid and glide around the frozen puddle in the back yard or go to a pond in town or a nearby quarry to enjoy this winter ritual? It's a great way to get out in the fresh air and enjoy the great outdoors. Just be sure to bundle up! Southern Maine offers a number of places where you can ice skate indoors, too.

Note: It is always a good idea to call ahead to check skating availability and conditions.
