Ice skating is a fun activity that can be enjoyed in Albuquerque all year round. The local skating rinks offer public skating sessions as well as private lessons, for beginners all the way through to more advanced skaters. Hockey lovers can find a program and join a team. Find a rink near you and enjoy this winter sport whether you're a beginner or good enough to own your own skates.

Looking for indoor winter sports? Visit a bowling alley and enjoy a few games. Or find an indoor games and entertainment center, where you can win prizes or see movies. Indoor centers are also places to take the little ones for indoor playground experiences like tumbling.

    Try figure skating during a public session, or take some lessons at this Rio Rancho complex. Beginners and more advanced skaters are welcome. The arena has ice hockey programs for children and adults. Equipment is available for rent or purchase. Birthday parties are available.

    Blades is a multiplex arena. In addition to offering ice skating, Blades offers hockey, soccer, lacrosse and flag football. It's soccer and lacrosse programs are for youth and adults. 

    The complex is available for booking of private events. Also, there are group rates for 10 or more skaters, provided a reservation is made ahead. 

    Birthday parties are also available. Several package levels are available, with each level providing admission to a skate session as well as skate rental.

    The city of Albuquerque opened its small rink on Civic Plaza in late November and plans to have it open through early January, daily except for Mondays and Tuesdays. The small rink of white plastic will be surrounded by evergreen trees and bales of hay. Christmas music will play while Skaters enjoy the ice. The ice rink is for children and adults and is free for those who bring skates. Those who don't can rent them for a fee.

    The fun of ice skating in Albuquerque takes place all year long. The Outpost is located in the Sandia foothills near the Elena Gallegos Open Space. and keeps you cool all summer or skating nicely through the winter months. Beginners are welcome, and public sessions are open to anyone and all ages. The Outpost offers public skating sessions as well as private lessons. There are also hockey programs. The Outpost Hockey School has weekly power skating clinic on a drop-in basis, for both youth and adults. Stick and Puck sessions are available.

    The arena provides birthday parties that include skating tickets, skate rentals, pizza, soda, a birthday cake and a reserved table with cups, plates, and napkins.
